JPG's and PNG's are often confused for each other. JPG's, as shown on the right always have solid backgrounds and will be rectangular or squares. PNG's on the other hand have the ability to be transparent and can be like stickers that have abnormally shaped out lines. PNG's are very useful on Power Points for clip art for example.
